Writing Centre Learning Commons


Writing is part of everyday life.
Our goal is to help students cultivate ideas, develop strong organizational skills and heighten creativity. Whether you are writing academic, business or personal documents, our tutors are available to help you articulate, clarify, and shape your ideas. We offer writing support services to students at Dalhousie and King's in a practical, friendly and collaborative environment. Seminars: Our popular, free Wednesday night seminars offer you the chance to review key writing concepts such as sentence structure, writing research papers, and understanding the writing process. Check out the Schedule.

English as a Second Language Course.
(Cost: only $70 for 10 classes.) This course is a great way to develop your communication skills in English. You will be introduced to documents written at the university level. The instructors understand that you need encouragement and a relaxed environment in which to learn.

Intellectual Property Issues (Avoiding Plagiarism) Attend these seminars to get clear information about evaluating and citing sources, handling documentation styles, and writing research papers.
